Colin Kremer Wins Volterra Prize!

Colin Kremer ('08) has won the Ecological Society of America's Theoretical Ecology Section Volterra Prize for best oral presentation by a student at this year's meeting in San Jose, California (August, 2007). Colin's research is an investigation of how chaotic dynamics are lost in a small-world network metapopulation. Colin, a SUNY Geneseo President's Scholar, was the only undergraduate among a collection of graduate students. Way to go Colin!

Our program is funded through a National Science Foundation grant for Interdisciplinary Training in Undergraduate Biology and Mathematics (UBM). Please feel free to read our project description. Our goal is to address problems that reach across these disciplinary borders and to help train undergraduates for graduate school and careers in biomathematics.
